Sometimes, I think that being a photographer is a little bit like being a magician.  When I look around me, I don’t see what “is”.  I see what “can be” using a little bit of creative capture with my camera ~ and I “trick” my viewer into seeing reality through the eye of my lens.  I don’t just stop with photographic capture.  I digitally “paint” or manipulate the things that I capture into something else entirely.  Sometimes it looks similar to what the eye sees.  Sometimes it becomes something else entirely.

 What I love about photographic art is that there is no right or wrong – there is only creative expression stemming from the heart of the artist.  A photograph can capture reality or it can be manipulated into infinite possibilities as seen only in the artist’s mind.  We can love the results, or not; but art is a gift, an expression, a possibility coming from the heart of its creator.  Above all else, that makes it beautiful.  And I promise you, every piece of art that I create began with a photograph.  It began with reality. It ends with imagination.
